About myself

Carolin Egger graduated in Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg. Innovation Management and Marketing were her main interests at this time already. With a part-time master degree program at SMBS University of Salzburg Business School she deepened and enhanced her knowledge in these fields.

Still, she could not leave the questions about innovations behind: Why are some companies more innovative than others? What preconditions doe companies have to ensure for employees to develop market-oriented, innovative products? In fact, she made it the topic of her dissertation at the University of Latvia, Riga, to solve this issue.

The years of 2006 – 2011 in product management for different products (power tools, small domestic appliances) were highly affected by the constant challenge to develop innovative products and market them successfully. Working a lot on an international basis at the time, Carolin Egger developed a profound intuition for different cultures and backgrounds. Finally, working for a consultancy mainly in product management projects, she gained an insightful understanding of theories by Geert Hofstede and Edgar Schein and the concepts of a management based on organizational values.

To give the content of teaching a practical setting and to develop a holistic approach to marketing are her major concerns. In the context of market-oriented business management, her research still focuses on innovations and organizational culture.
