Most of the successful graduates attended the graduation ceremony at the University of Applied Sciences on September 21 and 22, 2018 and personally received their official certificates in a ceremony.

The graduation ceremony is a highlight in the lives of most students. However, this weekend is also an annual highlight for the teaching staff at FH Kufstein Tirol. On two consecutive days, all attendees of a total of more than 500 graduates in 2018 received their certificates at the official ceremony. About 1500 guests were also present since many family members and friends wanted to be there on this special day.

Friends and family are happy for the graduates

The former students eagerly awaited the presentation ceremony as did many family members and friends who also wanted to celebrate this graduation day. “Our son pursued his studies through second chance education: He first completed an occupational training and then got his high school diploma later on, and now he is graduating from the polytechnic. We did not expect this,” said Ingrid Gay proudly about her son who successfully completed the bachelor degree program Industrial Engineering. The grandfather of Regina Horngacher, BA, graduate of the extra-occupational bachelor degree program Facility Management & Real Estate management was also very moved: “I feel rather proud since this is the first graduation ceremony in our family.” It is a premiere, and we want more of these now.”

On this graduation day, the stress of studying was quickly forgotten as relief and joy outweighed any previous struggles. “I knew right after the exam that I had passed. That was the moment when I felt an enormous sense of relief. I will now enjoy this festive occasion and beautiful weather with a glass of champagne,” said Martin Noichl, BSc, graduate of the bachelor degree program Industrial Engineering. “The graduation ceremony is a wonderful conclusion of student life. I was especially happy to see all my classmates again and say goodbye to them,” said Susanne Adelsberger, BSc, graduate of the bachelor degree program Web Business & Technology.

“Class cohesion and team building”

No matter whether full-time or extra-occupational student, most see their graduation as the successful completion of one phase of their lives and the beginning of another. For example, Susanne Adelsberger extended her vocational practicum and is now starting her professional career. “Our studies have prepared us well for our profession. The youngest student in our class was 18, the oldest 30. It was a good mixture. Some had experience, others came directly from high school. As a career jumper, I learned a lot from others. For me, class cohesion and team building were especially valuable at FH Kufstein Tirol,” said Adelsberger looking back.

A special day also for colleagues and guests of honor

Within the context of the graduation ceremonies, FH-Rector Prof. (FH) Mario Döller and Vice-Rector Mag. Diane Freiberger, MBA gave speeches and presented the certificates to graduates. As guests of honor, Prof. Roland Feindor of the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, Chairperson of the Polytechnic Association Mag. Hannes Bodner, Mayor Mag. Martin Krumschnabel and Foundation Chairperson of the FH Kufstein Tirol-Private Foundation Dr. Herbert Marschitz greeted the graduates and those who accompanied them.

“Every year, I look forward to the graduation ceremony and feel excited although I regularly hold lectures. It is a beautiful and touching moment to confirm our students’ success as we send them on their way,” as FH-Rector Prof. (FH) Mario Döller summarized the event.
