Experts in Education from Across the Globe to Convene in Kufstein
With Kufstein being selected to host the EAPRIL Conference 2020, Kufstein joins the ranks of major cities: Since 2006, Nicosia, Lisbon, Trier, Bergen, Maastricht, Leuven and many others have hosted the international scientific exchange of teaching practitioners.
Scientific Exchange on Education and Teaching
Every year in November, the European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (EAPRIL) organizes the EAPRIL Conference. The unique feature of EAPRIL is that it brings together people interested in research and practice as well as in education and teaching in a professional context.
The next EAPRIL conference will take place from November 27-29, 2019, in Tartu, Estonia, under the motto "Meaningful Learning in Different Settings."
A Win for Both Kufstein and the EAPRIL Conference
In 2020, the international conference for researchers and practitioners in the field of education will come to Kufstein. The dynamic and up-and-coming city at the Bavarian-Tyrolean border scores not only with its cultural wealth and unique location, but also with its comprehensive educational offerings. "As a municipality, it is a great honor for us to pass on our education policy experience to the participants of the EAPRIL Conference 2020 and to show them personally the educational institutions in our city," explains the mayor of Kufstein, Mag. Martin Krumschnabel.
The Regional Association of Tourism of Kufstein is convinced of the added value that the international conference contributes to the region. "The EAPRIL conference brings additional business to our hospitality sector – and that in the off season. In addition, Kufstein builds on its excellent reputation within Europe as a location for events of this magnitude. Last but not least, the schools in the region benefit from the interaction with European education experts,” says Managing Director Mag. Stefan Pühringer, MA.
University of Applied Sciences Experienced in the Hosting and Organizing of International Congresses
The association EAPRIL has selected the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol as host. "We are pleased that EAPRIL trusts our extensive experience hosting and organizing conferences and events. In 2017, the year prior to our application, we organized over 70 events with more than 10,000 guests in total," explains Prof. (FH) Thomas Madritsch, Managing Director of the University of Applied Sciences.
"Our modern building with the new extension, which will open in 2020, is the perfect location for this event," says Rector Prof. (FH) Mario Döller. "The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol is the flagship of our educational institutions, whose academic offering makes a decisive and lasting contribution to the development of our city," adds Mayor Krumschnabel.
