The most prestigious title bestowed by IFMA, the IFMA Fellow, was conferred to Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch - CEO of FH Kufstein Tirol - for his outstanding efforts for the Facility Management profession.

Fellowship is the highest honor bestowed by the Association. Because collectively the elite core of Fellows represents the most esteemed facility management professionals, distinguished authors, excellent academicians and leading facility management visionaries. IFMA Fellowship is unparalleled and unmatched among workplace-related recognitions. The award was assigned during the annual IFMA-meeting World Workplace (WWP) in Houston, Texas.

Under the leadership of Thomas Madritsch the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol developed into a leading center of excellence in facility management during the last 12 years.  Together with his research partner Prof. Matthias Ebinger, Pratt Institute New York, he developed the worldwide published recognized Built Environment management models BEM2 and BEM3.

Founded in 1980, IFMA is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals, supporting 22,655 members in 78 countries. The association’s members, represented in 129 chapters and 16 councils worldwide, manage more than 37 billion square feet of property and annually purchase more than US$100 billion in products and services.

The Fellowship program was established by the International Facility Management Association in 1992 to recognize members who have distinguished themselves by a lifetime of achievement in and around IFMA and the field of facility management. Fellowship creates an elite core of respected leaders who can be called upon to act as advisors to and ambassadors for the Association.
