Admission Procedure

The following steps are part of the admission procedure to the Master's degree program bio-inspired engineering:

  1. Application documents to be submitted:
    • Motivation letter
    • Curriculum vitae
    • University certificates
    • Proof of English skills (TOEFL iBT or proof of having studied in an English-speaking country for at least two semesters)
    • Curriculum of prior natural science and engineering university degree
  2. Notification of the receipt and subsequent evaluation of the application documents will be given within 14 days. If all requirements are fulfilled, the applicant will be invited to an interview shortly after having been notified.
  3. Interview before an admission committee (can be done via video conference, e.g., through Skype, if required due to a long distance between the applicant's home and the university). Duration: 15 mins + 15 mins for Q&A.
  4. In case admission is approved, a bio-inspired engineering degree program contract will be sent to the applicant. The contract is based on the contract of the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Kufstein Tirol International Business School GmbH).

The same admission procedure applies for applicants to the module certificates. However, individual circumstances—assessed by the admission committee—can be considered. Examples of individual circumstances are if an architect wants to do the certificate module for Bio-inspired Art, Design & Architecture or a physician wants to do the certificate module for Bio-inspired Medicine.

Admission requirements for both the Master's degree program as well as for participants aiming to acquire a module certificate include field-specific BSc degree (at least 75% of the total credit points of the preliminary studies in the core subjects of science / technology and/or engineering), min. 3 years of job experience, English skills at a minimum level of C1 (proof required from all non-native speakers, e.g., TOEFL iBT or proof of having studied in an English-speaking country for at least two semesters). More details upon request.

Special grant available until July 31st, 2018
