The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol was once again the only Austrian higher education institution to be awarded the highest rating of “excellent” for its international orientation & took its place in the top 25 for the first time in the category.

In 2020, ranking specialist U-Multirank examined a total of 1,759 higher education institutions from 92 countries using various criteria. The results were published on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 including the global top 25 university lists. On this list, the 25 higher education institutions with the highest performance in the entire world were awarded the highest number of points in ten various performance categories. The University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol confirmed its achievements in recent years, and in 2020 it is one of the top performers in the two categories of student mobility and contact to work environment for business management study programs.

“Our higher education institution puts a high value on its international orientation and practical teaching. Our values were now confirmed again by the ranking specialist U-Multirank. Our top 25 placement in the worldwide comparison in two areas is a top result and a great confirmation for the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol. This shows that we are on the right path to position ourselves internationally as well as we can,” said Managing Director of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol, Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch happily.

The U-Multirank overall profile of the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol shows that in addition to internationalization its top achievement in the surveyed indicators is primarily knowledge transfer. The university of applied sciences in Kufstein was also able to get the highest rating of A in the category “Graduating on time (masters)” in the area of teaching & learning. “Teaching and research take place in a very practical way directly on site at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol thanks to its well equipped technical laboratories. Our laboratories contain the newest technologies and were only recently expanded by the new addition. This makes it possible for us to offer our students a high degree of knowledge transfer in a very practical way that we are also able to make available to companies for training sessions,” reported the rector of the university of applied sciences Prof. (FH) Dr. Mario Döller.

In 2020 a total of 1,759 universities and higher education institutions in 92 countries worldwide were compared with each other by the U-Multirank. U-Multirank is the largest and most comprehensive ranking that shows the diversity in higher education institutions worldwide. Higher education institution achievements are assessed by individual grades in the following areas from A (excellent) to E (weak). Higher education institutions are analyzed and awarded in the following categories: teaching & learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation (including student mobility), and regional engagement.

In addition to its general comparison of higher educational institutions (institutional ranking), the U-Multirank is a multidimensional, international procedure that also considers the quality of teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and regional engagement (subject ranking). Since 2017, the U-Multirank has been financed by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the Erasmus + -Program of the European Union, and the Santander Group.
