Head of Institute for Cross-Border Restructuring

Markus Exler has been at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol since 2003 and is responsible for the Cross-Border Restructuring Institute, which he founded in 2006. Regular guest professorships at universities in India, Dubai and Singapore, where he lectures on Mergers & Acquisitions and Turnaround, contribute to the development of his academic approaches.

As part of his partnership with colleagues at nexum AG, Cologne, Germany he advises management and companies on challenges related to corporate sales and transformation processes. In addition, he is a board member of the BDU professional association for restructuring and insolvency consulting.

As a restructuring consultant, he sees corporate restructuring not as a mistake or a consequence of a crisis, but as a normal part of business development.
