Easy introduction into the world of crowdfunding

26.06.2018 | Practical projects
The Crowdfunding Monitor 2018 helps founders and companies with the financial implementation of their ideas. FH Kufstein Tirol is available to companies as a competent contact partner.

Securing financing for ideas and projects often represents an enormous challenge for founders as well as for small and medium-sized enterprises. Crowdfunding is a modern financing solution. A group of investors – the crowd – secures project financing with small monetary amounts.

Analysis results from thousands of projects

The Crowdfunding Monitor 2018 was created at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol in response to the constantly growing interest of companies and founders in crowd financing. Online platforms such as Startnext or Kickstarter give millions of people the opportunity to invest in interesting and innovative projects.

University Professor for Financing, Accounting and Auditing at FH Kufstein Tirol Dr. Dominika Galkiewicz and the students of the master degree program International Business Studies analyzed thousands of projects together with business consultancy firm BERMAG within the context of a practical project with emphasis on finance and commented on the results. The Crowdfunding Monitor 2018 represents the first result of this cooperation and provides 70 pages of consolidated answers in the English language to the following question:

  • What is crowdfunding?
  • What kind of projects can be financed with crowdfunding campaigns?
  • Which crowdfunding platform fits to which project?
  • How do I implement a crowdfunding campaign step by step?

The Crowdfunding Monitor 2018 can be freely accessed online at the FH Kufstein Tirol website.

Knowledge transfer in the regional industry

“Our German end English-speaking finance students are available for a consultation meeting with anyone who has questions on the topic of Crowdfunding and wants to finance projects with this type of funding,” explained Dr. Dominika Galkiewicz, head of the crowdfunding team. She emphasized how beneficial the practical projects anchored within the curriculum are for the students of FH Kufstein Tirol and underscored the resulting opportunities for the transfer of knowledge within the companies of the region.
