Language courses with online support and eLearning

16 language lecturers at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol participated in two half-day workshops of the eLearning Center and the Service Center for Languages at FH Kufstein Tirol. The teachers were able to gain many insights into the usage possibilities of Moodle, learning apps and interactive whiteboards for language classes.

Learning languages with quizzes and game-based platforms

“We are happy about the intense interest of language lecturers and their active participation in the design of quizzes, forums and other activities in Moodle,” as Asc. Prof. (FH) Mag. (FH) Hans-Peter Steinbacher, MA, head of the eLearning Center described the mood in the workshops. On the first workshop day, Language Lecturer Jesus Manuel Millán Vidal showed the participants many great and already tested applications for language classes: exercises on the interactive whiteboard, the play-based learning platform Kahoot! and other learning apps that can be used in online phases of language courses.

The events showed that eLearning elements and interactive media are highly suitable for integration in language teaching. Many participants shared this enthusiasm. The training packages will therefore remain a component of the eLearning training measures at FH Kufstein Tirol.
