Master your Future: working towards a sustainable tomorrow

The revised master’s program in Energy & Sustainability Management* will start in the fall of 2021. Prospective students can apply now to secure a place in the program.

Sustainability has long been an important focus in the degree programs at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol (FH Kufstein Tirol). Starting in the winter semester 2021/22, this focus will be further expanded by a part-time master’s program in Energy & Sustainability Management.*

This master’s degree program is tailored specifically towards future managers in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable mobility, and sustainability management. “I am very pleased that we are finally covering the pivotal contemporary issue of sustainability at the master’s level. Alongside our bachelor’s program in the same area, the master’s program covers additional key competences in leadership and communication,” says the program’s Director of Studies Asc. Prof. (FH) Dipl. Ing. Christian Huber.

KEY COMPETENCES TAUGHT IN THE MASTER’S PROGRAM

The recently revised part-time master’s program in Energy & Sustainability Management* educates students to become experts in the fields of sustainability and the energy transition. At the same time, students acquire important additional competences and soft skills in the management component and the electives of the program. These enable them to manage the expansion of renewable and sustainable energy sources as well as the development of innovative mobility concepts, while at the same time allowing them to evaluate complex economic interrelationships with foresight. Students are thus able to recognize trends at an early stage and to derive and implement recommendations for action. In addition to (blocked) in-person teaching, the program also includes distance-learning elements and is therefore well suited for working students and/or students with family obligations.

SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS

The former master’s degree program in European Energy Management at FH Kufstein Tirol has been expanded to include the additional subject matter of sustainability management. With this revision, a new and forward-looking degree program in the fields of sustainability and the energy transition has been created that meets the demands of current economic trends and the needs of the labor market. “Because of the wide range of professional fields you can enter after graduation, I can wholeheartedly recommend the program,” says Maximilian Hipp, MA, EEW graduate and portfolio manager in the field of energy procurement for electricity, gas, and district heating at the municipal utility company Stadtwerke Ingolstadt.

As part of their studies, students can already build their professional networks in the relevant fields of energy, environmental, and sustainability management. After completion of the program, graduates are able to directly enter the professional world and can help shape a sustainable future. In fact, graduates work predominantly in project management and in decision-making roles within companies. Occupational fields span everything from product development in the areas of energy, mobility, and sustainability, to corporate and regional sustainability and environmental controlling.
