Bad-Weather-Activities for the KaiserWelt in Scheffau
The existing KaiserWelt is to be enriched with additional options that will attract tourists and locals to the KaiserWelt even in rainy weather. This is the objective of the clients at Bergbahnen Scheffau. The students are to develop possibilities of weather-independent activities on the mountain and design corresponding concepts.
In the first phase of the 4-month practical project, the students of the Marketing & Communications Management degree program under the direction of Project Coach Mag. Uta Fessler-Purkarthofer, MBA, created a comprehensive analysis of the status quo and potential target groups. In the subsequent creative phase, the students developed a variety of ideas and options based on the motto “There is no such thing as bad weather on the mountain....” These were presented to the clients.
Ultimately, the theme ‘World and Story of the Rain Emperor’ was found to be most convincing and suitable and selected for implementation. The new Path-of-the-Senses was lovingly designed with stations such as “The Sound Tree,” “The Garden of the Senses,” and “The Forest Living Room.” For the applied praxis project team, the detailed implementation plan, complete with concrete ideas and measures for marketing campaigns, marks the final milestone toward an offer of recreational activities that should bring local families and tourists to the KaiserWelt regardless of the weather.
